“She goes above and beyond when it comes to her safety as well as the safety of others. She is truly a leader!”
Jennifer Sumners, Verst Logistics
This September, we celebrate a teammate who absolutely hit the ground running and made a name for herself at one of the most competitive employers in Talladega County, Verst Logistics in Lincoln.
She’s definitely impressed us with her can-do attitude and commitment to working safe, and we’re proud to present this month’s Safety Champion award to a teammate who’s more than earned the praise.
Meet Ke’Shundra!
First off, tell me a little bit about your job – what are your day to day responsibilities?
“I drive the tugger and deliver parts to the line, then take the empty containers to the warehouse to get filled back up with parts, then repeat until the shift is done.“
What’s your favorite part of your job?
“It’s pretty easy and I caught on very fast, it felt really nice to be able to do that.”
How do your work safe or keep your coworkers safe?
“First off, I watch everywhere while driving, and blow the horn before turning. If I see someone coming, I fully stop until they see me, and wait for one of us to acknowledge the other in going first. Usually I let them go so I can keep an eye on them.”
Any words of wisdom for working in such a competitive, fast-paced environment?
“Just watch your surroundings, make sure to be aware of other people’s movements around you.”
